Breathtaking Beaches!
Southern Living Magazine ranked Destin the #1 Family Beach Destination, and #1 Fishing Destination in their recent Reader's Poll. Visitors are constantly amazed that the beauty surpasses the descriptions they've heard.
Destin is East of Pensacola and West of the barrier islands that dot the Florida Panhandle. Miles of beach carpeted in 100% pure Appalachian crystal separate Destin from the Gulf of Mexico to the South. Sparkling white sand dunes resembling alabaster hills line the beach. Lush vegetation grows wildly around the dunes, across the island and ends at Choctawhatchee Bay. Okaloosa Island and Fort Walton Beach are directly West of Destin. Average air low temperature in December is 44 degrees, high is 63 degrees. Destin is known for its rolling sand dunes that look solid but are in a constant state of change. They are made of lighter grains of sand blown onto the barrier island by offshore winds.
